Comprehensive Eye Exam.
We recommend an annual eye exam; this includes a complete front to back examination of the eye in order to assess the health of the eye. We recommend dilation of the pupils every two years for most individuals (or a photo of the retina). This exam also includes an eye glasses prescription that will be given to you at the end of your appointment (including pupillary distance measurement). A contact lens prescription requires a contact lens exam which is an additional fee. A comprehensive exam and contact lens exam can be performed at the same visit. Medical Eye Exam.
Price depends on what is completed during the visit. Please contact the office for details. We are able to treat and manage corneal abrasions, infections, allergies, inflammation, foreign bodies, contact lens related pathology, amblyopia, and diabetic retinal exams. Price: $50-100 (we do not take medical insurance)
Pediatric Eye Exam.
We recommend an eye exam at 3 years of age, before 1st grade, and annually thereafter. Vision is crucial to learning and there are conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye) that can be treated only up until a certain age. In order to get the most accurate prescription for your child we need to put drops in their eyes to relax their focusing system. These drops are safe and a part of routine care but will make your child light sensitive and have blurry reading vision for 1-2 days. Please contact us if you have any additional questions. Contact Lens Exam.
As a contact lens wearer, it is extremely important to have your eyes examined annually to make sure your eyes remain healthy, confirm the contact is still a good fit for your eye, and the power of the contact is also the best for your eyes and lifestyle. We also provide contact lens fittings for first time wearers. Price is in addition to a comprehensive exam. Contact the office for a more specific quote.
